Full of humour and heart, Māui And His First Journey is part of an exciting resource called Whakatipu which reinforces how tamariki and parents can learn together through play at every age and stage. Whakatipu is designed to meet the demand for free, accessible, Māori-focused parenting and child development information. Available in English and Te Reo Māori, this app introduces parents, whānau and tamariki into the world of adventure, brain development, waiata and pakiwaitara.

Māui And His First Journey is an interactive story book. It can be read in English or Māori, with or without narration. Use the menu to toggle language and narration options. Navigate the story using the left and right arrows on each page. Replay the narration for any given page by using the replay button. Explore Brain Facts, Parent Tips and other content within the story. Use the share button to tell your friends and family about this app.

This interactive book has been designed to work with all versions of iPad (retina iPad recommended) and with the iPhone 3GS or newer (iPhone 4S, 5 or 5S recommended).
